Do They Matter? (the unborn)

"Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me...Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' - Matt 25:41-45 NASB

The fundamental problem these self-condemning people have is that they don't think their INACTION matters, though that isn't really what gets them. Rather, their inaction proves that these people don't think the people they shunned matter; they are on trial, and their works or lack thereof are the evidence.

They emulate the works of the self-righteous lawyer who thought to weasel his way around Yahweh's commandments by exempting himself from loving those he didn't regard as his brethren. Yahshua answered with the Parable of the Good Samaritan, but instead of answering the man's question, 'who is my brother', Yahshua answered how HE knew who HIS brethren were. In the parable, Yahshua is the wounded stranger that neither the Levite or priest regarded as even worthy of minimal assistance in his dire circumstances.

Those who economize on brotherly love in Christ's name really miss the point. We can pick, choose, and entreat those we count as brethren however we want, but in the end, it makes no difference. The only thing that matters is whether or not we choose to be a brother to Yahshua.

A 40 million member choir of the victims of abortion are crying out to God for vindication, and He is listening. Is his anger rising against the promoters and profiteers of the abortion industry? Yes, of course, but only a fool would think His wrath could be placated simply by dealing with them. No, you see, they are only capitolizing on the opportunities given them by the silent enablers of their crimes, all those who don't even count the unborn amongst the very "least of these."

Yahshua takes violence and injustice against His brethren seriously, but we are supposed to be His voice, hands, and feet in the world. The choice is ours, but if we want a place in the family of the living God, we must first be Yahshua's brother. And if we want to be Yahshua's brother, we must be a brother to the "least of these," His brethren first.

We have His word on it.

"And Yahweh said to him, 'Go through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark upon the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it.'

And to the others he said in my hearing, 'Pass through the city after him, and smite; your eye shall not spare, and you shall show no pity; slay old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women, but touch no one upon whom is the mark. And begin at my sanctuary.' So they began with the elders who were before the house."
- Ezek 9:4-6 RSV
